The fabric is similar to velvet only in its pattern, but it is softer and thicker than velvet, yet still pleasant and soft. The color of the item is different from what is shown in the photo: it is more pink-beige than yellow-beige. I changed the belt because the one that came with the skirt was quite flimsy, with a plastic buckle. Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase; it's perfect for winter, spring, and autumn.
